The Zero SR/F is an amazingly fast 500 pound electric bike, with over 100 horsepower and 140 ft-lb of torque.

Meet the Zero SR/F Electric Bike

After the Zero SR/F is released to the public, a slightly modified version will be ready to kick some butt by competing at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The recently released entry list for this year’s PPIHC shows that the Zero SR/F Electric Bike will be competing in the Pikes Peak Heavyweight class.

It it will be up against some very stiff competition, in the form of gasoline powered big-bore European and Japanese bikes, such as the incredible Aprilia Tuono to many series of BMWs.

The Zero SR/F Electric Bike Will Not Be the Only Electric Bike In the Class

Amazingly it will be joined by an electrified KTM Superduke chassis built-in my hometown of Rochester, New York by the students of the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Will the Electric Bikes Beat the Current Record Of 9:49.625 Set By A KTM Superduke 1290 R?

This is the perfect place to try to break records with electric bikes.

Starting the race at 8,000 feet above sea level and ending at 14,000 above sea level, the electric bikes will have a huge power advantage.

No Electric Bike Has Set A Record Since 2013, When A Lightning Electric Superbike Ran A 10:00.694.

Fortunately, there’s been many advancements in EV power and tire technology since 2013.

As long as the weather doesn’t get foul, setting a new record should be achievable.

Conclusion

The SR/F is one amazingly fast 500 pound electric bike.

It has over 100 horsepower and 140 ft-lb of torque.

This is all the result of impressive advancements in EV power and tire technology.

Will This Be Enough To Beat the Big-Bore European And Japanese Bikes?

Many factors will determine this.

It will depend upon the skill of the riders.

How well the weather holds up.

And how powerful the regular bikes are compared to the newest electric bike technology.

Anything can happen.

Do you think the electric bikes can win?

Or will the gas-powered ones be too much for them to handle?

You be the judge of that!
