Meet the Company That Makes the Triple Eight Certified Sweatsaver Helmet
Triple 8 is a company with NYC in their DNA. Born on the streets of New York City in 1996, they’ve been developing skate, bike, snow, water and derby gear of the highest quality and craftsmanship ever since.
They continuously dream up new products, incorporate new technology, and maintain their hard earned reputation.
With tough, stylish protective gear developed for the action sports industry, I knew that Triple 8 was the perfect company for my daily, rough and unpredictable bicycle commutes.
Then again, Triple 8 knows what it’s like to ride on New York City streets, and what it takes to conquer them.
Plus, they not only make their own products, they use them too.
When this innovative company decided to send the Triple 8 Certified Sweatsaver Helmet, I was absolutely thrilled.
How Was the Triple Eight Helmet During My Commute?
This Triple 8 helmet is known as the Holy Grail Of Comfort and Protection.
It’s the only helmet on the market that fully integrates the best of high impact absorbing EPS Foam with thick dual density soft foam and plush Sweatsaver fabric, delivering the ultimate in comfort and dual certified protection.
I’m also a huge fan of the very stylish and minimalist design, including the amazing matte blue color it came in.
Appearance and Color
The Triple Eight Certified Sweatsaver Helmet is very stylish while still being minimal. Compared to my old Specialized racing style helmet it has more of an urbanistic look.
Instead of being oval and pointed, it has a more rounder shape, with no visor that can get loose or break off. On top it has holes for ventilation instead of slits. And the back has a nicely curved lip with the name of the helmet and reflective logo on it.
The helmet also comes in many different colors, but I chose the matte blue and very happy with my choice.
Comfort and Adjustability
During my multiple, long bicycle commutes, the Triple 8 helmet was extremely comfortable.
Unlike my Specialized helmet, the Triple 8 fit snuggly without being too tight. While riding it didn’t move around when going over rough surfaces or hitting bumps.
Also, the helmet feels extremely light even while going on long commutes.
All this amazing comfort comes from the incredible design features that Triple 8 put into this helmet.
The Triple 8 helmet has a deep dish design that allows it to fully cover your head. This helps it to sit more snug, preventing it from moving around while riding. Something that’s also very important for safety, in case of a crash.
It also comes with two different sized liners: one in small, the other medium. These Sweatsaver liners make the helmet fit perfectly while keeping sweat out of your eyes.
This helmet also has simple adjustment straps for both the chin, and for the front and back tilt.
Adjusting the chin strap was extremely easy. All I had to do was pull the strap tighter through the plastic adjustment.
To get the helmet leveled properly in the front and back, I had to adjust either the separate front or back straps. The helmet didn’t need much adjustment, so this only took a few seconds.
Plus, the helmet doesn’t dig into the back of my neck because of the curved lip and lack of an adjustment knob.
Getting this helmet to fit snug and comfortable was quick and easy.
This Triple Eight Certified Sweatsaver Helmet Has Certified EPS Protection
Lined with 360 degrees of High-Impact absorbing EPS foam, this helmet is Dual Certified to CPSC Bike and ASTM Skate safety standards.
Safety features like this makes this helmet suitable for all types of action sports.
Protecting my head while riding through traffic, dodging pot-holes and irate drivers is very important. If this helmet can protect professional athletes, such as Tony Hawk during crashes, I know that it’s more than suitable for my daily commutes to meet clients.
Since 1996, Triple 8 has been developing, testing and improving high-end gear for action sport professionals, and the Triple Eight Certified Sweatsaver Helmet is a reflection of that.
The Triple 8 helmet is the FIRST and ONLY helmet to fully intergrate the best of High-Impact absorbing EPS Foam with thick dual density soft foam and plush Sweatsaver fabric, delivering the ultimate in comfort and Dual Certified Protection.
These safety features combined with it’s outstanding stylish looks, are what makes the Triple 8 helmet suitable for riding the means streets of the city, while still looking darn good.
This helmet has everything you could ask for except for a mirror, which I had to add myself.
