Tonite I have an extra special bonus for all you pavement scorching gear heads. I have a very entertaining and educational video from a good friend and commuting fanatic. This guy has been featured on here before, and if you haven’t seen his video, “The Perfect Commute For A Healthy And Safe Life,” I encourage you to watch it. In this video, Shifter tests out three different bicycles to see which one is the best for commuting. The first one he tested out was the good ole reliable, three speed steel city bike. Next up was the road bike, followed by the electric bike.

During the whole time I was watching this video, I couldn’t help but think of when I had a 5 mile round commute to downtown each day. Every day I would challenge myself to beat the record I set the day before. I’d leave my place of employment and pedal furiously to see if I could shave a few seconds off my commute.

I’d fly past the buses like Flash Gordon, while trying to avoid red lights as much as possible.

As soon as I got home, I’d quickly look down at my watch to see if I beat my former time. At one point I was able to travel 2.5 miles in only 6 minutes.

Being able to accomplish such feats wasn’t easy though. Over the course of 9 months I lost over 30 lbs of unwanted weight. I was going to the gym 4 times a week to build up my strength. And watched everything that I ate in order to make the pounds melt off faster than butter.

Finally, All You Serious Commuters Can Find Out How Your City Bike Compares To A Road Bike And Electric Bike

For all you serious commuters out there, you can admit that you’ve asked yourself the following question. Is your city bike actually that much slower than a road bike? And how much faster and easier is the electric bike than a road bike?

During this Video, Shifter rode each bike the same distance over the same route. What he discovered was amazing and shocking at the same time. And I’m sure many of you will feel the same once you watch this video.

After watching this phenomenal video, you’ll never shop the same for a bicycle again.

Enjoy the video I’ve included below and let me know what you think.
