The Frog Pond is ribbitty good!

Many years ago when I met the original owner of The Frog Pond she invited me to stop by and try the place out for lunch. At the time I wasn’t much into going out to eat and never visited any of the great eateries that existed in the Rochester, New York area. It wasn’t until years later and hearing lots of great things about the place, especially how good the food was that I finally decided to take the leap and see for myself how good it truly was.

Since then I’ve put together a taste testing crew that accompanies me to all the great places I visit, and gives an honest opinion on what they think of the food and service. This taste testing, food harsh critics are very rough and don’t give the nod of approval that easy at all. If anything isn’t right at all they will be the first to point it out and not afraid to let the waitress or even the manager know especially when it comes to fresh cofffee. Louie, part of my food tasting crew has given many waitresses and Barista’s hell for telling him the coffee was freshly made when it was burnt and stale. He also has a keen eye when it comes to spotting how clean and tidy the place is and has been known to do the white glove test.

The Frog Pond has a great menu with deliscious food

The first time we walked into The Frog Pond it was the same routine as usual. We kept track on how long it took to be seated and for the waitress to come and take out order. Louie then watched the clock as we waited for our food to come out and to our surprise it was pretty fast. The Frog Pond passed the first couple of tests with no problem but did they get the food right? We all looked at each other as we took our first bites and agreed that the food was absolutely deliscious. It was great being able to order the food exactly how we wanted it and could customize the menu to fit our tough to please taste-buds.

The Frog Pond’s atmosphere was enjoyable

Everything was right and the waitress came around frequently to ask us how we were doing and if we needed refills on our coffee’s. Not once did Louie have to yell at any of the staff to brew a fresh cup of coffee and didn’t have to worry about the cleanliness of the place.

In fact we really enjoyed the cozy down to earth retro style look of the place. The tables are made out of an industrial metal look and the walls have funky art hanging from each side. For those that don’t like tables you can either sit at the counter next to the kitchen area or a booth by the windows in order to enjoy the Park ¬†Avenue scenery.

The Frog Pond has excellent service

Since then we’ve returned many times and the waitresses have a great memory by making sure we always get our usually favorites right each time. One time they made a mistake by including a little extra on one of our orders and the owner said it’s free of charge. Now that’s customer service that cannot be beat and now every Thursday afternoon we go The Frog Pond to eat lunch.

I would totally recommend The Frog Pond and if you ever get a chance try the place out for yourself because it’s ribbitty good.
