I stood face to face with the giant swan with neither of us about to back down. He stood nice and tall with his neck stretched out. With a loud yell he spread his wings to show me that he ruled the roost down by the pond. All the other birds scattered in fear as if they knew what was about to happen. We intensely stared each other in the eyes and that’s when I knew what I had to do. I gave up the fresh soft loaf of bread and he calmly let me escape unharmed.
Down at the Seneca Park Zoo pond they have a great place for Swans, Geese, ducks and turtles. People come from all over to feed these amazing birds that will literally come right up and eat out of your hands. Add to that the nice quiet environment that’s very relaxing and you have a place you can spend hours without even realizing it.
