I’ve tried many pizza’s, some good and others very bad. One time a pizza was so badly burned that it crumbled as I bit into it. I can assure you that I never went back there again. When I heard from numerous people that Napa wood fired pizza was the best in town I was definitely up for a taste-bud challenge.
As usual I round up the pizza crazed crew which consists of my mom and good buddy Louie. These two are just as much a harsh critic as me when it comes to pizza, if not worse. Only once in the history of ever trying pizza did she give the nod of approval. Louie is straight from Italy and only enjoys authentic Italian food. Would Napa wood fired pizza meet up to their high expectations or join the rest in over-hyped pizzerias that over promised and under delivered, known as the pizza graveyard.
Napa has tha old world Italian charm
Upon arriving at Napa wood fired pizza I liked the old world look of the building. If the inside was as unique and interesting as the outside, with the pizza tasting as great as I hoped, we could have a winning combination here. As we entered the premises and was seated by the host we were all pleasantly surprised. The old fashioned wooden floors and ceilings with huge beams gave an old world Italian vibe.
After looking through Napa’s unusually styled menu and ordering, our two Margherita pizza’s with wood fired mushrooms and combination of black and green olives shortly arrived. The two pizza’s smelled very deliscious and we couldn’t wait to dig in. Louie was the first person to take a peice and by the look on his face I could tell he was enjoying it. Next was my mom who immediately spoke up about how tasteful the pizza was. Even I couldn’t believe how authentic the pizza was compared to what it’s like in Italy.
Napa’s authentic pizza is a step above the competition
The pizza was cooked on an open fire with olive oil covered in real authentic Italian sauce and real unprocessed cheese. Louie who usually eats one or two pieces of pizza on most occasions ate four instead, with mom and me eating about the same. To flush it all down we all drank a cup of coffee that, was also scrutinized very carefully. Having Italian blood running through all three of us, you can bet that if that wasn’t fresh and authentic that would have been sent back immediately. I’ve witnessed numerous times, Louie giving baristas and waitresses hell over serving stale coffee and ordering them to brew a new pot. Fortunately the coffee was incredibly enjoyable and all three of us even asked for refills.
As we looked around the walls we couldn’t help notice the pictures and awards of being voted best pizza in the city. Would I agree with them being the best pizza in the city and most importantly, the best I ever had? The answer is, yes!
Napa puts a lot of time and love into their pizza’s
You could tell that Napa puts a lot of time and love into cooking up their pizza’s. It was very obvious that the sauce was authentic and made from scratch, being cooked for hours to perfection. Also obvious was that the dough that they used was fresh and carefully cooked over a real open fire while making sure that it wasn’t burned, with of course olive oil.
Napa has unbeatable service
The atmosphere and service was another thing that I have to praise Napa pizza for. Our host and waitress was very friendly and helpful while ordering and checked on us frequently to make sure we didn’t need anything. Everything was deliscious and fresh, and definitely exceeded our expectations.
I would absolutely recommend Napa pizza to anyone looking for authentic pizza with great service and an atmosphere that’s very inviting.
Thank you for joining us and I hope you enjoyed this review as much as I did writing it. Plus I got to eat the best pizza in town.
