A few days ago, Dad’s Dahon folding bike was in desperate need of repair. The headset (part of the steering) was ridiculously loose, and potentially dangerous. This was the second time this headset became loose. A Dahon representative told me that this can make the Dahon folding bike dangerous to ride. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH HIM!

While waiting for Dad’s Dahon folding bike to be fixed, we took some time to look around Bike Zone. Before Dad and myself got into folding bikes, we use to own regular full sized bikes.

For over a few years we both rode Raleigh hybrid bicycles all around town. We both bought our bikes at Bike Zone, because they have amazing customer service and prices. These hybrid bicycles were absolutely phenomenal, and a joy to ride.

Over the time frame of three years, I had zero problems with my hybrid bicycle. I rode this great bicycle all year round through thunderstorms, blazing heat, and frigid cold. Even a sudden snowstorm that covered me in snow. I LOOKED LIKE THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN!

As we were waiting for the Dahon folding bike to be fixed, we browsed at the selection of bicycles while drinking our coffee. Lately, I’ve started to put in some serious miles and would consider a road bike sometime in the future.

Over the last 7 months I’ve lost over 32 lbs. Increased my endurance, strength, and ability to climb hills. It’s safe to say that my love for bicycles has returned, and it’s only going to get worse.

During my recent visit with my doctor, I discovered she’s a cycling addict also. When she brought up the topic of clip-less pedals, my ears perked up. This discussion got me curious, and urged me to go on a mission to find out more about them.

Many videos later on Youtube from my favorite channels such as Global Cycling Network, and I can see the benefits of clip-less pedals.

Of course, we discussed many more topics besides clipless pedals while at Bike Zone.

I pointed out this fat tire bike to Dad, which he absolutely loved. There are a few others in the shop that have thinner tires that I’d prefer, but dad likes these tires the best. Neither one of us are considering giving up our folding bikes but you never know. Dad still rode his Dahon Speed P8 folding bike home, and I rode my Tern Link D8 folding bike home. @dahonbikes @ternbicycles

From the side this fat tire bike looks even more extreme.
