Can Putting Adsense On Your Blog Make You Rich?

I’d like to share a video that I watched a few days ago on YouTube  from Jeff Rose. In this this video he interviews a very talented and successful blogger named Michelle. Michelle is the author/owner of Making Sense of Cents. This incredible blog has helped Michelle learn how to make and save money, accomplishing the amazing feat of paying off $38,000 of student loans in 7 months.

Michelle Has Achieved Great Success

Michelle also offers a few online courses for those who want to start a blog called, How To Start A Blog Course and Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.

Since August of 2011, Making Sense of Cents has received several awards and mentions. Michelle’s blog is very successful. Successful enough to allow her to travel full time with her husband and two dogs. On a sailboat of course around the world.

She loves getting up every morning because she loves her life. Every morning she looks forward to getting up because she lives life on her own terms.

Below I’ve included this awesome video of how she went from $0 to $100,000 each month.

The Hard Work I Put Into AndyThousand.Com

For anyone who has started a blog, just like I did, this video is a true inspiration. For several months, I’ve been taking my blog much more seriously than I have in the past. I’ve been focusing on creating high quality and informational content that my visitors will find useful. This hasn’t been an easy task at all.

The problem is that there are thousands of great blogs floating around on the internet, all fighting for your attention. Many of them offer exceptional content and are marketing to gain loyal followers.

With so many websites on the internet, it can be very difficult to reach new audiences. And even harder to turn them into loyal fans. Your blog must be interesting, useful and above all, help solve a problem. Michelle’s blog does all of this by helping her followers make and save money.

How About Affiliate Links

Just like Michelle, I’m a huge believer in making most of my income from Affiliate Links. If you can get enough traffic and clicks, Affiliate Links can provide a substantial income.

It took Michelle about a year before she really started to earn anything substantial on her blog. She had to work on her blog for many hours a week and learn how to market it to the right audience.

When I started to get serious about my blog I tried to include affiliate links way too soon. I didn’t know how to market the Affiliate links properly and didn’t have enough traffic. I made the huge mistake of trying to use Amazon Associates. If you don’t get enough sales on Amazon Associates Affiliate Program within 180 days they will automatically kick you out of the program. This doesn’t disqualify you from reapplying and getting accepted again, but it’s a huge nuisance. It prevents you from making anything, especially if you don’t have any other forms of income on your blog.

I Got Kicked Out Of Amazon’s Associates Affiliate Program

I did end up getting kicked out of Amazon’s Associates Affiliate Program. Infolinks did provide me with better success but I didn’t like how it outlined certain words in my posts. My visitors use to get confused not knowing if it was a link to a post or an ad. I might put them back in eventually, just using the pop up and video ad. Plus, unlike other types of ads, you can use Infolinks along with Google Adsense without getting punished.

At this moment I’m using Google Adsense with very little success. Each month the amount that I earn has been increasing, but not by much. I’m still in the single digits when it comes to earnings. Maybe I need to just keep posting great quality posts and give it time. Or maybe I still have a lot to learn and just not at the level I need to be at yet.

Still there are a few things that I really like about Google Adsense.

Some Bloggers Are Earning Thousands Per Month

There are many bloggers just like Michelle who are earning thousands of dollars each month off visitors clicks. If you can get enough clicks, you can earn some serious money. There are many times when I’ve noticed that some posts have gotten higher payouts than others. It all depends upon the topic, and how tempting the ads are to certain visitors.

Setting up the Google Adsense plug-in was also very complicated. I had to have my sweetheart set it up for me. Once it was installed and set up properly, it automatically put Google ads on all my posts. This eliminated the need to install ads manually on all my posts, therefore saving me a ton of time.

Also I like how the ads can be customized to fit the style of your blog and they aren’t ugly looking.

What I’d Love To Achieve

One day I’d love to make my blog my full time income. Just like Michelle, I’d love to have more free time with my family and loved ones. Possibly even travel around the world just like Michelle does.

Those are some of the things I dream of being able to do. To me money doesn’t mean anything if I’m not able to share it and take care of the ones I care about. Material possessions such as big houses and cars don’t impress me, plus it’s not good to run up lots of debt or buy objects that depreciate. To me, money is about living life, not buying stuff.

I’d greatly appreciate it if any of you, my amazing visitors could tell me what you think below. Are there any issues you see with my site or posts that I need to fix. Do any of you make money from Affiliate links and have any tips for me? Do I need to be more patient? Also, do you think it’s possible to earn a substantial amount from Google Adsense? Please tell me in the comment section below.
