Rochester, NY is literally transforming right before our eyes with everything that is old and faded melting away and making room for new and exciting things. We’re finally breaking away from the reputation that without the big three known as Kodak,
Bausch & Lomb, and Xerox were not able to survive.
The University of Rochester is now the biggest employer in the area and one of the leading research and development centers in the country when it comes to Cancer and heart disease. What was once known as the old interloop between Monroe Avenue and Main Street is now completely gone no longer cutting the city in half and making way for new neighborhooods to return. And lets not forget the beautiful buildings that are now up known as Tower 280 and the Digital Democrat & Chronicle. These are all very welcome changes along with tons of new apartments such as
We’ve come a long way and sure we will continue to make great progress. There are a few things I’d like to see added in the future such as an Entrepreneur center where people from all ages can come and have the opportunity to start a new business or grow and existing one. There can be seasoned business veterans available to offer advice along with information about researches available to help. I’d also like to see some facts about what type of businesses have failed or succeeeded in the area and why. The future of our city depends upon smaller more innovative companies and I’d like to see a lot more support offered to them.
It’s about time Rochester, NY broke the reputation as being broken down and poor with no opportunities and with continued work it can become the little city that can.
